Hi All,

Here I have a query.

1. I am British Citizen (got through Naturalisation).
2. Got married to my wife who is non-British Citizen (Indian Citizen) in 2017 in UK (after getting clearance from HO) who is in UK on Tier-2 visa since Mid 2014.
3. Now (July 2019) my wife got ILR.

Is she eligible to apply for British Citizenship now? or need to wait for another year? Should she complete 3 years married life here in UK, if she married to a British Citizen in order to apply for British Citizenship immediately after getting ILR?

We completed 2yr 1month married life only.

Please advice me.

Your help in this matter is really appreciated.

Best Regards,

Madhav.

Is she eligible to apply for British Citizenship now?
She can apply now if she meets all the requirements of spouse of BC based on 3 years residence, including the physically present in the UK 3 years ago.
or need to wait for another year?
No.

No. The requirement is simply to be married to a BC on the date she applies.
