Hi All senior members,
My EEA spouse applied for sattled status and she included my NON EEA child who’s 18 years old now. He joined us as EEA family member since September 2015 and holding Residence Card as EEA family member.
My EEA wife and my Son have granted EU sattled status before living 5 years continues in UK.
When he can apply for British citizenship? In September 2020 or Sattled status granted from May 2019?
Thanks

As your son is now an adult, he will need to meet all the requirements for naturalisation, including the absence requirements (which are tougher and different from those for Settled Status), passing both the English language requirement and the LITUK test, and can naturalise on the later of either the fifth anniversary of his arrival in the UK for settlement or of the first anniversary of his getting Settled Status, whichever is later.

Thanks for your quick response members.
I am holding PR and already applied for Naturalisation in June and waiting for decision.
So my son who’s over 18 don’t need to complete 5 years? Can apply naturalisation next year May 2020?
Thanks

He is required to have a minimum of 5 years residence and it must include 12 months on PR/Settled status before he can apply for citizenship. There is no discretion for him as he is already an adult and must meet the form AN requirements, including English B1 and LIUK.
