Travel document not taken in application

Hi I have recently applied for naturalisation and my current travel document was not taken from me. I thought it should have been taken and you would need to ask for it back if you need to travel
I would like to know if that was the correct procedure and also if I can travel and if I need to let the home office know I will be traveling for a week
Thank you

With the new system, you are not required to submit travel documents. All you submit is scanned copies and UKVCAS verifies and returns your originals.
Yes you can travel. You dont have to tell HO. Just know HO can send requests for additional documents at any stage. But since you will be away for only a week that should not be a problem in case you miss the post.

Ukcvas do NOT take originals. They are not ho staff. They are merely a third party agent for biometric enrollment and document checks.
You are free to travel.

Your ILR BRP, Your current & expired Home Office Travel documents are enough. Your home country passport will be with Home Office anyways?
Yes you need LIUK and English Requirement also.
Hope you know that you can only apply minimum 12 months after ILR unless your married to a British.
