I have just received a naturalisation certificate but need to travel out of uk next week. I applied for a british passport today. Can I still use my Conventional refugee travel document and BRP to travel? I need to travel next week. Any advice.

1. If you knew you had travel plans, you should have scheduled you ceremony for when you returned to the UK.

2. Your ilr brp is void now and needs to be returned to ho within 5 days of attending your ceremony and you would have received this instruction in writing when you attended your ceremony.

3. You are likely required to submit your TD with your passport application as well as your citizenship certificate as you have to send originals.

Number 1 Is where i went wrong. But I hope other people will find this useful and learn from my blunder. I have just posted my BRP and TD as you outlined in 2 and 3. Yes, tthey needed the BRP back within 5 days of the ceremony. I was too excited and did not think ahead. They requested my naturalisation certificate and TD to apply for a passport. That means my birthday holiday is cancelled😌😌😌😏.
Thank for you contributions

Did the checklist request the naturalisation and TD both? As far as I know, the checklist only asks for the naturalisation certificate and the passport used to enter the UK.

or

did the HO send you a letter to return the TD after you applied for a BP?

or

you voluntarily sent the TD back?

Thanks

They asked for certificate and passport used to get in the country. I didnt have the later, so I voluntarily sent the TD and a note from HO explaining that they had retained my passport after granting me a refugee status.
I sent the BRP back to HO because they wanted it back in 5 days. I am just praying for a miracle

Hi guys,
Could you please tell me how long it took you to get your approval letter as a refugee? I am also in the same boat applied after spending 5years in DLR plus 1year in ILR.
Your replies are really appreciated.
Thanks
