Hi,

We will be completing my wife's citizenship application shortly, does the form anywhere ask if she is married to a UK citizen as she has only had the ILR for 5 months so we are applying now with the marriage to an UK citizen rule.

I've ran thru the online form quickly but the only question I've found around that is related to a EU citizen & it requests EU references if I remember right, not UK.

She was away for exactly 90 days from June to September, I assume the rule is upto & including 90 days in the 12 months right?

The form to apply for British citizenship is the same regardless of the route followed to get to that point.

You can apply online but having the paper form is good as it shows you all the information you need to gather. You can fill the paper form for yourself, then when ready, apply online. They will ask the same information.

Absences are explained in page 9:

- No more than 90 days in the last 12 months (up to 100 days, it's disregarded)
- No more than 270 days in the last 3 years
