Hi All
I have a friend having Italian Passport living in UK but don't have British Settlement or British Citizenship yet (both wife and husband) and want to apply for his new born child here in UK for British Citizenship.

As Far I know one of the Parents need to have British Citizenship or Settlement to apply for child British Citizenship.

Can you guys please help me to confirm they can apply for child British Citizenship yet or not as none of the parents has british citizenship or settlement.

They need to have settled status or PR before they can apply to register the child as British on form MN1.

How long have they been living in the UK before the child was born?
What have they been doing?

Thanks CR001. Yes they will apply for Settle Status now, as they been living more than 5 years now.

The child is automatically British, if a parent had acquired PR prior to child’s birth.
