Dual citizenship, documents back

Hello,
I have recently applied for my dual citizenship (to get my British citizenship).

I've done the online application without any problems and all that. I have sent in my documents (original passport, birth certificate and the only existing copy of my father's birth certificate) via post. I haven't scanned them because the last time I made an application I got nothing from the UKVCAS therefore costing me 90£ for nothing.
Anyways they've had my documents for over 1 month now and after not receiving any answers to my emails and the phone lines going in circles I've decided to try it here.

Now to the main question: How long will it take for the UKVI to send back my documents as I would need them in about 1.5 months time... (obviously it is impossible to give an exact date so I'd just like to know how long it took for your guy's stuff to come back)

thanks in advance and have a nice day

That is unfortunate ... not really clear why you couldn't upload. Contacting UKVI is a nightmare, and you don't actually talk to caseworkers, but a call centre.

Anyway there is a link for requesting document return: https://www.gov.uk/visa-documents-returned

Personally I am not familiar with this facility - all I know is don't select the option that allows you to cancel your application!

thanks for that I've seen that before but I was kind of scared of by it saying something with withdrawing the application as time for the application is a crucial matter (I've got to send in the application before the brexit talks are over otherwise I'll need a special permit)

Well you have submitted your application and mailed them your documents - if it's a valid application there shouldn't be any issue. Presumably you had an acknowledgment and payment was taken. Keep the email as it's your proof of having applied before 31.12.2020 - this will be asked when you next .renew your German passport
