Hi everyone,
I'm completing my naturalisation application. In the documents section, I'm required to provide the most recent tax year account statement and corresponding HMRC tax return as proof of self-employment.

I only registered my Private Limited company in September 2020. The company has been inactive since registration and I've not received any income from this company. Also, according to the information in Accounts section on Companies House website,

Accounts
First accounts made up to 30 September 2021
due by 8 June 202

Confirmation statement
First statement date 7 September 2021
due by 21 September 2021


What should I do in this situation? I would really appreciate feedback on this.

Apparently I need a letter from the HMRC to confirm that my company is dormant. However it takes 14 days to arrive and due to the Christmas holidays it may take even long. Should I submit the application in the absence of this evidence from the HMRC? Or should I wait?

Hi,
I'm a director. But in my naturalisation application, I've selected both self-employed and director. My company has been dormant since I registered it back in September. So naturally, I'm not expected to file tax returns. What evidence of self-employment should I provide? My occupation in company registration information is listed as 'Software Engineer', as I intend to contract through my own company in the new year.

As always, I would highly appreciate any expert advice on this.

Should I only choose Director? I haven't submitted the application yet, so I am still able to make changes.

Have you registered with HMRC as self-employed? You have to be registered as self-employed or are you trading as Ltd Company?

If you have a company and you are director, seems like your not self-employed.

No, I haven't registered with the HMRC as self-employed. The company has been dormant since registration.

Your not self-employed then. Tick director only and explain the company is dormant in additional notes.

I could only see one section for notes and that is in a different section of the application. Is that the right place to add any notes relevant to work history?
