Having British citizenship is a necessary, but not sufficient, criteria.

British passport is for British Citizens. The links posted by Vinny would set you on the right course.
So the only criteria that should concern you right now is how to obtain BC not BP.

Depends on the citizenship of your spouse. If your spouse is British, then you can apply immediately you get ILR and would need to show residency for the last 3 years.

If not Brit, then full 1 year (not 28 days before) on ILR, and show residency for 5 years.

OP has had ILR for almost 10 years. He would have to also prove he has not been absent from the UK for 2 or more years.
