Was the child born in the UK?
Should we apply for British passport for the child or ILR?
Only a British citizen can apply for a British passport. The child is not British. Child should be registered as British if UK born on form MN1. Once approved and the registration certificate is received, the a passport can be applied for.

Yes child is born in the UK, in MN1 form it asks for Childs ILR, but the child don't have ILR, the child's mother has ILR.

The form is generic. UK born children are not required to have ILR.

If child is not
automatically a British citizen, then child may not directly apply for a British passport. But a UK born child is
entitled to register directly after a
parent is granted ILR.
