Previous Biometric Residence Cards - Include in uploaded documents?

Hi All,

Thanks very much for this forum and all its great members for their much appreciated support. I have a question on the citizenship application and documents to upload:

I am uploading now all the evidence required to prove residency in the UK. I included a scan of a BRC from a previous leave, as well as my passport and the HO letter confirming my settled status. Do I need to include a scan of all previous BRCs I held since I arrived in the UK? Or just the BRC that I still have? All the other BRCs were replaced and returned to the HO anyway.

I just read somewhere that to prove lawful residence in the UK you need to include a scan of all previously held BRC/Ps, which I found a bit odd. I would very much appreciate your advice.

Thank you in advance.

Only your current BRC is needed, not all previous ones. You are applying on the basis of your settled status.

Thank you so much! That’s what I thought too. Actually when I got my settled status last year, I didn’t apply for a new card, just kept my pre-settled status card in case I needed it for travel (which in the end I didn’t use at all). So I am including the HO letter confirming my settled status and my BRC from the previous leave and I thought this was enough. Thank you for confirming this!
