Hi all,

can't find an answer anywhere.

I am currently on Universal Credit (lone parent), all immigration requirements satisfied. I started my self-employment on 13/04/2022, and received my UTR. But cannot provide the HMRC Tax Statement, because my first assessment period (tax year) didn't end yet. And the deadline for my next self-assessment will be by Jan 2024. The only proof I currently hold, is the UTR letter that I successfully registered with HMRC.

How do I go around it?

Few questions from me, hope not too silly:

- I have P60 for 2018, 2019, up to 5th April 2020. Does that mean I'll need other proof for the rest of 2020 year (May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec)? Or am I overthinking this.

- I was unemployed (read extended my maternity leave): 2021, 2022, 2023. Do I need to provide a proof for every month in those years? Or will let's say a letter from DWP received in June 2022 cover the whole year?

- In the AN Form is stated: '...letters from employers, educational establishments or other Government Departments indicating presence in UK.'. I am quite confused by now, as I read everywhere something different on what can and cannot be a proof.

Apart from having few letters for few months from DWP, HMRC, education (my college), I also have these that would cover a significant period, but not sure, if these can be used:
council tax bills (is this government establishment?! My brain is exploding by now )
annual/monthly bank & credit card statements (are any of these useful? Can I use annual statements to cover whole year?)
NHS letters to attend appts in hospital, blood tests, GP (are any of these useful?)

What is your immigration status, UK ILR or EUSS?
If it's EUSS then residency documents are needed - if you have council tax statement (local government authority) for each year that would normally be sufficient. The application only needs a minimum of documentation.
If you are on UK ILR, just your passport (with stamps) would be sufficient.

Thanks for your answer. I am on EUSS (Granted Pre-settled Status 2019,and Settled Status 2021). So I am certain, I need to provide proof. Sorry for not mentioning it earlier.

Have CTax for each year. So that will cover the years 2021,2022,2023 in question, right?

Yes that should be sufficient.
