Naturalisation Vs passport process

This is not a question, just an observation
Now that I've applied for my first British passport, I can't help but thinking of how we've been treated during the process of naturalisation!
Since I've applied for my passport I've been bombarded by updates about every single step at which my application is. Compare that to the agonising wait in the dark and the disregard of the psychological need to get the faintest hint as to at what stage your application is or the slightest indication of where is it in the queue or if there is even such thing as a queue!
Hell, the HO is one psycho freak!
