Application date - Payment vs Supporting document + biometrics submission

Has anyone had this issue before?
I thought my "Application date" would be the date on which my Biometrics + Supporting documents are sent off (22-Sep-22), but it seems that it might be the "Payment date" (15-Sep-22) used in a webform earlier in the process. The problem is that my ILR grant date was 19-Sep-21, so 15-Sep-22 is too early but 22-Sep-22 would be fine.
The webform says this about the application date...
"I understand the date of my application will be the date the Home Office receives it and calculations will normally be made on that basis." -> My assumption was that the 'date the Home Office receives it' would be when they receive the supporting documents, i.e. the full application!
The webform also says this...
"I understand that the Home Office will use a later date to make calculations where this would benefit my application rather than refusing it." -> So I'm hoping that if the application date was too early (15 vs 19 September), they will simply update it to be on or after 19 September...
Ultimately, in fear, I made a second biometric enrolment appointment in order to add a "File note" to my supporting documents to say "Please take pity on me, the wording wasn't very clear on the webform, plus it says you can update it judgementally so please do so!"
Does anyone have any knowledge on how this might be received by a Home Office case worker? Slightly worried!

It's an easy mistake to make. It's a difference of only 3-4 days. If you want to add a further note on this that is your choice, but I don't know whether it will be added to your submission via biometric enrolment at this stage (but you should acknowledge it is your mistake rather than blaming it on their wording!)
Rather than change the application date (they can't do that) they have the choice of disregarding it (as it's only 3 days, it's not that you applied 6 months in advance).

In the instructions given to the applicant, you are encouraged to submit within a strict time frame!
But in the instructions given to case workers (can be found in details online) they HAVE to consider the time frame at the date of the decision being made! So if your dates check in a window between submitting and decision making, u shall be fine usually. That's my understanding!

Hi guys.
This is, I'm sure, a common complaint... but what the hell is going on with the naturalisation application process?
Mine is now (just) over the six month mark since application. I tried calling the Home Office phone number and was told "you can't contact us, there's nothing else you can do" and then got hung up on. Absolutely no way to know if my application is even in progress.
Even if I wait 12 months, or two years, there is still no way of getting an update!
So... does anyone know of a smart way of getting even a shred of information on status?
I'm worried that my application will have somehow fallen through the cracks and literally never be addressed.
1. I've written an email to my MP but (1) I don't know how long that will take; and (2) I've heard that the Home Office also just writes generic responses to MPs. Is that right? Can my MP do anything about it?
2. Does anyone know if my council should have received an information request? E.g. can I call Lambeth council to see if they have received an info request from the Home Office? At least that would give me confidence that something is happening...
3. Are there any other ways to follow up?
This is insane!

It is not 6 months yet in your case. It is just over 5 since you applied on 15th September 2022.
The call centre is outsourced to a third parry who don't have access to your full application process etc with UKVI.
Applications can take 6 months sometimes longer.

The actual application date was 15 August so it has been six months and a day.
The question still stands though - what follow up options do I have?

Give them another call. They wouldn't respond to you bang on 6 months. But a day or 2 after, they can start to address your issues.
