Hi
I wanted to ask if anyone has ever submitted photocopy of country of origin passport for their first passport application. I don’t have my passport as it’s with home office. I had travel documents which I submitted along with home office letter confirming the receipt of my original country of origin passports. But they asked for more evidence for country of origin passport. I have posted photocopies of it. Are photocopies accepted?

This is an unreasonable request. Phone the passport line and ask to speak to a senior case manager and explain you can send in photocopies but the original is with the Home office.

Thanks for your message. Yes, I called them today early in the morning (already had called them yesterday and explained everything) just to inform that they should expect my passport photocopies package today and explained the reason for not submitting the passports again. The agent said he’s making note of it all and will pass it on to the examiner. If I’ve not heard anything by end of this week, I’ll have to call them and will ask to speak to case manager.

Good you have kept a log. I suggest you escalate this to a senior manager next time. You could also lodge a complaint for unreasonable request of documentation.
