Self employed less than a year

Hi all,

I'm currently apply for my citizenship, after receiving my ILR through the 5 year route last April 2024. I'd like some clarity on supporting documents for my situation.

I'm at the documents and declaration step of the application, which says I'll need to provide my "most recent tax year account statement and corresponding HMRC tax return as proof of self-employment.

Since July 2024, I quit my full-time employment and I've been self-employed sole trader, running an ecom business.
I haven't done a tax return that contains details of this self-employed business, as it's in the 24-25 tax year.

For the 23-24 tax year, I did a self assessment tax return because I was employed and earning over the threshold so I have a UTR already.

Should I simply provide my 23-24 tax return and payslips / P60? Do I need to provide details of my accounts for the current tax year, 24-25? Also, embarassingly, I haven't yet digitised my expenses for my business into an accounting software. I do however have a business bank account, could I use that as a "tax year account statement"?

Thanks in advance.

Supply the 23/24 tax return and SA302. That is the most recent. 24/25 can't be submitted yet as the tax year is still in course.

Thanks. How do I communicate that my business only started in July 2024? Or do I not need to worry as it will be evident from my tax summary it is a recent employment change.

Explain in a cover letter. You can still supply your UTR.
