No UKVI Email Acknowledgement After Naturalisation Biometrics – Is This Normal?

Hi everyone,

I applied for naturalisation and attended my in-person biometrics appointment on 1 August 2025.

When I applied for ILR earlier this year, I received an email directly from UK Visas and Immigration (Home Office) the day after submitting my biometrics. That email confirmed my application had been received, listed my submitted documents, and included an estimated decision date.

This time, I haven’t received anything from UKVI. Instead, I got an email from TLScontact titled “Biometric Collection Confirmation”. It included my application number, listed the scanned documents, and said the application will now be sent to UKVI, who will aim to make a decision within their standard processing time.

Has anyone else experienced this for naturalisation applications? Should I be concerned that there’s been no direct acknowledgment from the Home Office this time?

Thanks in advance.

Naturalisation is not part of the immigration path, has different requirements, law, systems, etc.
The email you received is probably the best you get, next communication will be the decision (in up to 6 months, sometimes earlier sometimes longer). If UKVI need anything else from you they will contact you by email.

Perfectly normal. With the old system, I didn't get a summary of the documents I had submitted.

Good afternoon,

Is the list of documents scanned include both the ones you have submitted and the ones scanned at the TLScentre or just the ones you have submitted?

Thanks

There is no list of scanned/submitted documents.

If you had purchased the scanning service, the documents UKVI will get include the ones you scanned at the centre. No list was provided by the previous service.

I purchased the service to get some of the documents scanned and also uploaded some docs myself. The email that I received only included the list of docs I submitted myself - no mention of the ones TLS scanned. This is the first post on the forum that mention the list of documents on the acknowledgement email from TLS so I am kind of glad as I am trying to understand if there is an issue with the way my docs have been submitted.

Thank you

I wasn't aware that TLS provides any list of documents submitted. If the HO needs anything they will contact you in any case. It is TLS's job to ensure the documents are submitted properly, regardless of providing a list and how complete that may be.
