Hi Team,
1) I would like to confirm whether the form for the spouse is AN and if the child, who is 17, the form is MN1. Is this correct?
2) I am applying only for my spouse and my kid and in the MN1 form of section 3
Section 3 - Parents’ residence in the UK or the British
overseas territories, where applicable
State which parent is the one who is a British citizen by descent and on whom this
application is based
i am not clear since both of us are not British citizen.
Thanks

What form are you using? File the application online for your spouse first, then add the child.

The adult child will need to complete their own form and meet all the requitments individually as an adult, ie LIUK, English B1, absence limits etc.

The kid above 18 is an adult in their own right and need to meet all the same requirements as yourself, including waiting for a year after ILR (assuming that they are not married to a British citizen).
They will also need an English language test, unless they have completed a degree course (not A levels or in an undergraduate course, etc) and got a degree certificate from a UK university.

Someone who knows child in a professional capacity. Teacher is fine, if they agree,

You can fill it in entirely online, provided the signature matches what is on the referee's passport, and upload it there directly. No need for a hard copy.
Thanks

You can add as many applicants as you wish. all applications will be processed independently. For over 18 children remember that they need to have been on ILR for 1 year and satisfy the language and life in the UK requirement.

The child above 18 will not be an application for registration of a child as a British citizen, because they are no longer children in the eyes of the law, but adults. And as they have got ILR, they are now independent of you for the purposes of immigration.
Also, keep in mind that naturalisation and registration as British citizens is not a part of the immigration pathway, which ends at ILR, but is a separate process with different laws, rules and requirements.
I do not know about the current digital forms, so I am not sure if you an include them on the same form. In the excerpt you have posted above, it clearly does state "Apply for registration of a
child under 18 as a British citizen". So you can't use that part of the form for your 21 year old child.
Your 21 year old child will need to naturalise (not register) as a British citizen, meeting all the same requirements as you (including one year on ILR, five years residence in the UK, English language test and LITUK test, etc), assuming that they are not married to a British citizen.

When filling in the online AN form, generally applicants are asked to add further people and then the correct application depending in the answers (either AN or MN1) is selected.
