MN1 application – Child's immigration status while application is pending

My son was born in the UK on March 2021 and I am going to apply to register him as a British citizen under section 1(3) of the British Nationality Act 1981.

I was granted Indefinite Leave to Remain on 14 July 2026. My son currently holds Skilled Worker Dependent leave which is valid until 27 August 2026.

If the MN1 application is still pending after 27 August 2026, does my son need to submit a separate immigration application (for example, an ILR application) to maintain lawful immigration status, or may he remain in the UK while the MN1 application is being considered?

could some redirect me to the right route ?

Your case is not unusual.
A child born in the UK doesn't need a visa (unless for travel) or ILR (for MN1).
