This is a nightmare!!! my girlfriend was born in UK 1986 and wants to apply for her 1st passport.. Her mother has a jamaican passport, but came here with her parents in 1964. Her parents have british passports.
We want to go away next year and she has just told me all this i'm starting to panic because the UKBA website is difficult for me to understand.
So question is... Is my girlfriend a British Citizen? Is her mother?
If I've posted this on the wrong section I apologise.

What about the Father? Does the mother have ILR?

If mother has ILR then the daughter has citizenship

Once again, if the mother has ILR then she is British. Does mother have ILR or not?
If mother does not have ILR then she is not British (father does not count and it's too late to apply for citizenship based on father). However, in that case, assuming she has lived in the UK until age 10, she can apply for British citizenship on this basis.
