Under what section is the application being made? If under section 1(3), that is there is an entitlement to British Citizenship, normally take less than a month.
under 1(3)

When you say PR, do you mean ILR? Or if you really do mean PR, under the terms of the EU Treaty, if that confirmed PR, after application on form EEA3 or EEA4, or is it because 5 years of exercising Treaty Rights happened in January?

Sorry for the confusion John..child 's Mother got IRL in Feb 2010 after a five years work permit ..the child was born in 2008 in the UK..we applied under section 1(3)..I was also under the impression it would take 2 weeks ..now its almost 4 weeks..was just wondering if there was anyone else in the same boat..I tried contacting the Home Office but just got thru to an answering machine..

I think some of these things just depend on luck. A friend applied for her daughters on April 30th under section 3(1), approved on 13th May, registration certificates arrived on 17th May, same day as approval letter. Some people are just luckier than others. Her naturalisation also came through in the same time frame.
