Passports not covering whole period for naturalization

My current passport covers just past 1.5 years, and I lost my previous passport (so they can not confirm stamps from 3.5 years before that). How can they now verify my absences from the uk? I provided them with P60's + salary slips, what else can i do? Will that be enough?

I was in a similar situation when I naturalized. I renewed my EU passport while living in the UK, but the old one was destroyed as part of the renewal process.
If you use the NCS, they will confirm if you have enough proof of the 'residential qualifying period' with your P60s etc.
It does make it harder for you though, it is difficult accounting for all your UK absences without having an old passport to refer from.

Did they write u a letter asking for old passport, even after you said it was destroyed? How did you prove your absences? Did it take long time to get your approval?

Unfortunately I am in same situation. Lost my passport and standing at same situation now. I have no idea how to prove my first entry to UK coz my 5 years will be calculated from this period only. How did you manage to prove yours ? Could you please help ?

Hi ,
I think its better to get SAR file from H.O . They will have your travel record .
As i am also in the same situation , i am thinking to apply for my SAR report as well . Still comfused what to do .
Is there any harm to apply for SAR report ? Pls advise

I have the same issue of a lost passport and i recently got my SAR fom Home Office but the report only confirmed my FIRST entry to the UK under HSMP and my very first entry tothe UK on a visit over 12 years ago. It did not list all my other short absences during my HSMP years. Is this enough to satisfy residency requirement.
In addition I made a short trip out of the UK on the day i first entered for the HSMP scheme. How do i satisfy the condition for physical presence in the UK exactly 5 years befoe nationalization if the 'application date' is a few days after my initial entry when I was not in the UK.
