Hello guys

I am the spouse of a british citizen and have been in the UK from 3 years and almost 5 months, just got my ILR this week. I came here initially on a student visa and was on it for an year almost and then changed to spouse visa. I am still a student though.

My absences are just below 270, including less than 90 this year, but the problem is that during my time on student visa, i have been out of UK for continuous 163 days because i had that long vacations. But still my total absence is just below 270.

I want to know if i can apply for british citizenship. That continuous absence of 163 days on a student visa , is it gonna be a problem ??

THANKS

No. As long as you are within the - 90 in last 1 year / 270 in the last 3 years - limit, you should be okay.
