Me and my family have got ILR in Jan,2010 after completing 4 years on HSMP JR visa. We all got letters from Home office that we all are eligible to apply for Cititzenship in Jan,2011. I came to U.K in Jan,2006 but my family joined me in May,2006 so there is a difference of 4 months. One of my friend told me that my family can not apply for citizenship before May,2011 as they came 4 months later then me. I hope to get some clear answer from experienced member.

Your spouse may apply for naturalisation through either of the following routes:
Route 1 - Complete 5 years in the UK and upon fulfilling
standard requirements apply for naturalisation.
Route 2 - Once you naturalise and are granted citizenship (naturalisation certificate), your spouse may then apply for naturalisation as spouse of British citizen as and when
requirements for spouse /civil partners are met.
For child / children under 18, application for
registration as British citizen may be submitted at the same time as either parent's naturalisation application. Registration for not-UK-born kid(s) is at discretion under
section 3(1).
For child / children above 18, application for naturalisation may be submitted as and when
standard requirements are fulfilled (i.e. - 5 years stay, May 2011).
Given the short delay, best that all eligible members in the family apply together in May 2011 (joint application) .. and save money on application fees.

Thanks Sushdmetha for your reply.
As per my information, after getting ILR the person will be eligible for applying British citizenship after completing 12 months in United Kingdom. In my wife's ILR approval letter, Home office mention ILR approval date which is same as I(main applicant) have.It means we both will complete 12 months after ILR approval in Jan,2011 therefore we both will be eligible to apply for citizenship in Jan,2011.
Again thanks for your promprt response.

why not read the link sushdmehta kindly provided for you?

One requirment as you noted is being free for 12 months from immigration restrictions (i.e. ILR) but you are also required to be a resident in the UK for at least 5 years (which your wife will not satisfy on Jan 2011). There are other requirments as well if you read the link.
