Hi!

I am from Zimbabwe and have ILR granted in 2005 on gorunds of asylum. I have a child who was born here in the UK in 2009 to a Zimbabwean mom who has Limited leave to remain (5yrs) granted in 2008. I want to know if she qualifies to apply for British passport or the procedures I need to take for her to gain citizenship.

I have heard so many theories regarding this issue and desperately need your help.

Many thanks.

If a parent has ILR when child was born in the UK, then child is automatically British (1(1)(b)).

It doesn't matter about the Father if you were settled when the child was born.
