Hello all,
I was wondering if being unemployed for 2years would affect my right to British citizenship...I haven’t been working for the past 2yrs but my spouse (spouse just been granted British Citizenship) is employed and works full time. I don't claim any benefits except CB as we have kids. I would really appreciate your advice.

Hello oscar22.
There is no requirement for a person applying for naturalisation to be in employment. Indeed, many are not (people who are "home-makers" – known as "housewives" in the past – being an obvious example that accounts for a large group of people).

Christophe Thanks for your advice. If I write my occupation is 'home-makers or home-wife or house spouse ' in section 3.1 in form AN1, I am at loss what I would fill in section 3.2 as there is no option of 'unemployed' If I tick 'Self employed', I still have to produce latest self assessment from tax office which I don't have. Or do I feel my past employment record details and then give further information of myself being unemployed in page 13 of AN1 under section 5?

If you mention as home-maker then no need to tick any thing.
