I understand that the government is tightning up, not only on getting a Spouse Visa but British Citizenship as well.

My wife has been here in the UK with a Spouse Visa since February 2011. I am in receipt of Guaranteed Pension Credit. My wife is 59 years of age and is not working at the present time.
It looks as if the nerw probationary period will be increased to 5 years and unemployed people will not be allowed to sponsor a spouse. My wife is anxious to know if this will affect her application for British Citizenship.

its sems like major changing are coming but hope this will not apply to you or your wife. the whole process are focousing on settlement not the BRITISH CITENSHIP means once you have a settlment status then it not that tough but ofcouse its will make impect on BC coz its longer period to qualiy and some other ristriction.
but again at the end i dont think it will be in yor wife case she is already here now. goodluck

This is all still in the consultation stage. Legislation, if any, is not expected before April 2012. It will take months to know the details and the transitional measures, if any, for spouses already in the UK

I read the documentation very briefly but could not find
anything on the process of British Citizen as it was all about ILR.
Have I missed something?

Will affect citizenship indirectly as ILR will change from 2 to 5 years.

yes i red the documents very carfully. yes its is indirectly affect on BC coz of qualifiying period would be increased and they making hard to get ILR/PR.
