EEA Treaty rights: is P45 ok and print-out of tax returns?

Hi guys,
Trying to gather all the documents for the last 6 years and I've seen that in 2006 I received the P45 instead as I finished the employment on 31-03-2007
So the employer at that time said that they were not going to issue a P60 as I was not going to be employed by them at the tax year-end. Is it OK to present this P45 as evidence of me exercising my treaty rights?
Just before that I was self-employed and in partnership, what should I present in this case, a print-out of the tax return that was filed online would be enough?
