Advise on BC and benefits

Dear all,

Need your advise as I am bit confused what to expect from my application for naturalization.

I am in the UK for 5 years, have been granted ILR in 2007. Due to apply for naturalization at the end of this month. Some time ago, being more precised, 3 years ago i have applied for job seeker allowance and was refused on the ground of too many savings - strange because I don't know where they calculated this from as i never had that amount as savings), at that time it didn't matter to me much as i have found a job pretty much straight after the refusal. Now I am worried as i have been advised by some people that it is a problem and the home office might refuse in naturalization!
I have been here for 5 years, always worked (except those 3 months when i applied for benefits), paid all taxes, no criminal or any driving offences, no long absences from UK etc.
Anyway - my question is - will the above affect somehow my application???
Another question: i might miss a few proofs of address, payslips or P60. Is it very important to provide all this for the whole 5 years period?

I will appreciate your help in understanding where i am standing.

Thanks a lot in advance!

naturalization isnt means tested. You could apply straightaway.

Based upon what you have posted, as long as you pass the "applicant was physically in the UK exactly 5 years before UKBA receive the Naturalisation application" test, you can apply.

But I do not understand how you got your ILR in 2007 if you have been in the UK for just 5 years.

If you are ILR holder since 2007 you can apply at any time now, sounds like you applied for job seekers allowance after ILR was granted, so there is no problem.
