Hello,

I would be grateful if you could answer my question.

My husband (EU citizen) just received his approval to become a British citizen. Now he holds two citizenships. We are married for just over a year and I just received ILR in absolutely different category - i.e., independent from my husband.

My question is - can I apply for British Citizenship straight after my husband gets his British passport - i.e., without waiting for 12 months on ILR. I have been living in the UK for a very long time, no convictions, not many days out of the country, good character, etc.

I would appreciate your replies. Thanks!

Yes, you can apply after he is granted. The requirement is that you have resided in the UK for three years, have ILR, and are married to a British citizen. The route you took to be in that situation is not relevant.
