Hello Guys, I'm obviously new to this forum and a clarification on my query will be appreciated. I know my question sounds a bit stupid but pls help.
My wife and I both have ILR, our two kids 3yrs and 1yr were both born here. Can I apply for the British passport directly or I need to register them using MN1 form.
I'm just conscious of the price difference as the MN1 form is now about 800 pounds for the 2 kids and the passport application is just about 50pounds.
your thoughts or experiences will help me a lot. Many thanks[/b]

Were the children born before either parent received ILR or after?

we had the ILR about 6 months ago. Does this matter and how will it affect the decision if we had the ILR before our kids were born

No offence taken. I hit the submit button by mistake earlier while I was trying to paste the following information for you in my response above.
UK-Born child
For a child born in the UK
before either parent has settled status, the child is entitled to be
registered as British citizen under
section 1(3) of BNA 1981. A British passport can only be applied for after receiving the registration certificate.
A child born in the UK
after either parent was granted settled status is a British citizen by birth, and therefore may apply for a British passport straightaway.
