Gaining british citizenship for mother

Hi,

My mum's been living in this country since we moved here from Pakistan back in the late 80s. My dad now wants to get her British citizenship and I have some questions that need answering.

Though she's been living in this country for over two decades does she still need to do the ESOL or Life in the UK test?

Also, assuming she does need to do a test I know she only needs one of them and I know that she can apply with just Life in the UK. However, I'm unsure as to whether she can apply with just the ESOL and not Life in the UK.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

edit: I've just noticed I may have posted in the wrong section and apologise for that as I've just seen the British Citizenship section.

Assuming she has settled status:

1. If she is above 65, she may be exempt (discretion, 1.4.5).
2. Either ESOL with citizenship content or LITUK.
