Dear Members,

I need your help to know when to apply for naturalisation on my own right.

Dates:
Came to the uk in 2002
Married to EU citizen 15 January 2005
5 years residence permit issued 22/12/2005 until 09/12/2010
applied for EEA4 as spouse to EU and 10 years residence sticker granted on 08/03/2011

15/01/2011= 6 years of marriage (but marriage falling apart)

09/12/2010 to 09/12/2011= 12 months after 5 years residence permits

08/03/2011 to 08/03/2012= 12 months after confirmation of permanent residence

I would like to apply on my own right but I am not currently working

What should I do? wait after 08/03/2012 or apply now? Does any previous immigration issues (stayed without visa for 2months) would affect my application for BC? Many thanks in advance for your prompt replies. Your help would be really appreciated.

NB: I have 3 children in this relationship
Kind regards

Assuming that you meet the standard requirements, you have been eligible since 6th anniversary of your marriage. If you wish to apply without the need to provide evidence of your wife activities as EEA national (similar to what you provided for the EEA4 application), then you should apply 1 year after the date on your PR sticker.
Your employment status has no affect on naturalisation. You will need to pass the Life in the UK test before applying.

Thanks.
