Hi
Just wanted to know the earliest date I can apply for our naturalisation.
I came here on WP on 17/02/2006 and my wife came here on WP dependent on 02/02/2007. We got our ILR on 21/01/2011. If we want to apply as a Joint application, what is the earliest date we can apply?
Do we have to wait until 17/02/2012 (that's when my 6 yrs complete) or we can apply on 02/02/2012 (that's when my wife's 5 yrs complete)?
Thanks

Probably easiest 02/02/2012, if you are both
eligible.

Hi,
I came to UK on 29th Oct. 2006 & ILR(WP + T1G) granted 4th Jan 2012.
My ILR letter is dated 4th Jan 2012.
When can I apply for BC? 29th Oct. 2012 or 4th Jan 2013?
I appreciate the reply.

If you are not married to a BC, then 1 year from ILR - 4th Jan 2013.

Is it worth asking UKBA to backdate my ILR, on 29th Oct. 2011, as I completed 5 yrs. in UL on that day. Rather I was eligible for ILR on 1st Oct. 2011, as I could have applied 28 days earlier. I have seen some examples, UKBA can give a letter of being free from immigration control from back date?

well, you could've applied, but you didn't. They won't backdate it purely because you chose to apply later than the earliest date you were eligible to do so.

Applied for ILR by post 08.09.2011 (HSMP JR)
Last before ILR visa ended 26.09.2011 (5 years in the UK)
ILR dated 17.01.2012
The question is the same as Family's: Can UKBA give a letter of being free from immigration control from back date? (27.09.2011 in my case). Any info or statistics on positive/negative reaction of UKBA for such a request?
Or, should the ILR be dated 27.09.2011 even if the decision was made 17.01.2012?
The frustrating thing is that the people who choose do not pay extra money for the same day service to get the ILR are disadvantaged by having to wait for BC longer.
Thank you.
