Hi,

I have query regarding when I would be eligilbe to apply for British citizenship. My husband would be getting his citizenship in a month and I am planning to apply on that grounds. I have been staying in the UK for the past 3 years and meet the residential requirements. I have done my Life in UK test and meet the English language requirement. The requirements (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... ofcitizen/) mention nothing about the current visa status. I have been on Tier-1 general for 2 years and currently on FLR on my spouse's ILR since the past one year. Will I be eligible to apply for citizenship soon after he gets his citizenship?

Many thanks,
Smitha

No. You require ILR prior to being eligible for naturalisation.

A fairly bad way to back them up given it states:
This does not mean that the applicant must have ILE or ILR
Read the document for the full explanation but the generality of it is that you must be free from immigration restriction. ILR is the most common route to this but you could for example have PR if you were a EU citizen or family member of one.
