Can my children apply for citizenship

I got ILR in 2009. Prior to that I was an overstayer. During that time, I had 2 kids (born in UK) with my wife who was an oversee student in the UK.
My wife an 2 kids have now re-entered the UK on an Indefinite leave to enter visa.
Question: Can my 2 kids, who were born in the UK while i was an overstayer, apply for british passport.
Thanks

How old are the kids?

If they are under 18, then they are
entitled to register first.

Thanks vinny. Is this regardless of my previous overstayer status.

I need a bit of help regarding registering my 2 kids aged 9 and 5 as British Citizens. They were both born in the UK (I was overstayer at the time).
I was granted ILR in 2009. I managed to get my 2 kids Indefinite Leave to Enter.
Do I register them as British Citizens using the MN1 forms.
I was told that I have to get ILR first, which i think is not necessary.
Do I need a solicitor for this.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I need a bit of help as I am panicking a bit.
At beginning of March 2013, I sent 2 MN1 applications for my 2 kids to register them as British Citizens. This was done through NCS. The application for 1 of my kids was approved and I got the Certificate on 10th April. But I received nothing for the second kid.
When we applied the Nationality team sent us an acknowledgement letter confirming 2 applications and the fee received for 2 applicants. However in the letter they only mentioned 1 name. (the one I have received).
Is this normal? is it too early to panic?
To me in the acknowledgment letter, they should have mentioned both kids.
It is impossible to get in touch with the Team these days.
Advice pls.
Thanks for reading

Try getting help from NCS. They have a direct line to the HO.
You should normally get both of the certificates around the same time (although both might come under one child name in the cover letter).
