180 days calculation for ILR

Hi,

Could any one please tell me about the 180 days calculation for ILR ? Some of my friends says that the 180 days calculation does not include the vacation which you go out of UK and they say since we have the salary received in those days, its not considered as out of country.

Also, out of country for more than 180 days over the 5 years does not stop the application and we eligible to get the ILR.

It would be great help if some one could clarify on those points.
