Absence enquiry

Post by sb2009 » Tue May 14, 2013 12:07 am

Hi,

I am on Tier 1 General visa from Feb 2009, and due for ILR in Feb 2014.
I have 3 absences in my last 4 year period.

1. Oct 2009 - 14 days absence - paid leave
2. Mar 2010 - Jun 2010 - 75 days absence - paid leave
3. Nov 2010 - Jan 2011 - 54 days absence - unpaid leave

Total - 143 days

Will the unpaid leave break my continuity period of 5 years?

And, what evidence do I need to give for my unpaid leave?
Will a personal letter from me suffice?
I changed job 2 days before the start of 3rd absence. As I might not get a letter from my previous employer for first 2 absence, I am planning to give a personal letter for the first 2 absences.

I had unpaid leaves too but the CW didnt even mention it.

I think as long as you have < 180 leaves in any year, you shuold be ok.

Just prepare a personal letter stating the reason.

My 2 cents..

All the best

J
