TIER-1 General ILR - MAIN APPLICANT ONLY

Post by sumitt » Sun Feb 21, 2016 7:34 pm

Hi,
I am going to apply for ILR under Tier 1 general migrant category. my wife and daughter entered in 2011 nov, so they are eligible for ILR at the same time as me. However, to avoid any risks and loosing payments . I am planning to apply alone first through premium services. My questions are:
1) Is it allowed?
2) What should I fill in dependent section?
3) When I go for dependent application what form to use?
4) how many days are allowed before I have to make the dependent application once my application is approved
5) Which documents I need to provide with my application vs dependent application?
e.g. should I include cohabitation proofs etc. If I am not including dependents in the form.

can you please help with these?
Regards
Sumit

It is not necessary to start a new topic with each question you have on the same application. Your topics have been merged. See Multiple Posts (click)

1. Yes it is allowed. There is no rule that says the whole family has to apply together. As long as your dependent(s) still have valid leave, they can apply after you.

2. If applying alone, leave dependent section blank.

3. Set(O) for dependents when ready to apply after you get ILR.

4. There is no such requirement. You can apply as soon as your ILR is approved but probably best to wait for your BRP.

5. Please read the Set(O) form and guidance notes for your application. You DO NOT need cohabitation documents for YOUR application. Your wife will need them, for the last 2 years.

There are no 'templates'. Please write their own letters based on their circumstances if they choose to submit letters. You don't need a cohabitation letter or a continuous residence letter (HO have all your details), you also don't need a 'general cover letter', the form covers what is needed.

On number 2 though, you do need to declare your marital status and spouse details but you can add additional information with a note to say they will be applying after you by post, for example.

Please can you tell us where to specify marital status and spouse details?
I am also applying for the spouse separately and have filled the form but did not specify anything about spouse. In which section does this go?

Thank you

Hi mdave,

I just started looking at Set (o) forms to fill for dependents. I think dependent will become applicant in the set (o) form of they are applying separately. My question would be then do i need to fill Set(o) form as many times as number of dependents?

I will apply for my wife and daughter after my application to avoid risk of failure. Since my daughter is not dependent on my wife's visa (as she is on mine). i think they need to be applicants in their own right and then i shall fill the category as PBS dependent for each. i can make one payment thought i would assume so. It is so confusing. Extension forms were so easy to fill.

Can anybody help in this please?

Regards
Sumit
