ILR absence and requirements

Hi All,

After a lot of struggle, I just got my ILR approved and got my BRP with ILR. I want to go abroad (Outside UK) for some training courses. The Training course duration is 6-8 months.

1) What is the max time period I can stay outside UK without losing ILR ?

2) If I go to India and return to UK after 8 months or 1 year what kind of documents do I need to provide at immigration?

1. Two years.

2. Best to make sure you arw able to explain extended absences and your continuing links to UK, just to be safe.

As I got my ILR recently after a lot of struggle I dont want to risk loosing it. I am in UK for almost 15 years.I can try to finish training courses in 6 months time but in worst case scenario it can be 8 months to 1 year outside UK.

2) what kind of explanation should I give about continuing links to UK
