Application under Catagory B Income?

Post by alewid » Wed Aug 15, 2018 2:56 pm

Hi there, I need to apply for Indefinite Leave for my wife soon and I need some advice please.

I'm in salaried employment and for the previous FLR application I was with the same employer for the last 6 months so it was straight forward. Received a pay rise during them 6 months as well and I just used the lower amount as the annual salary income.

This time I have started a new job 4 months ago with a higher salary. This is the figure I will use for the current annual salary.
Then, for Category B, where it asks for the total income for the last 12 months, which figure do I put?
Is is just the gross figure for the last 12 months payslips added together or the average or just the lowest monthly payslip x 12?
I can't seem to get an understanding from the financial guidance notes. I know I meet the financial requirements under Category B, just don't know what income figure to put on the form.

I could wait for the full 6 months with the new employer but that would then only give me less then 2 weeks between the last salary and the visa expiry date. Rather not leave it that late.

My last 12 months payslips would be:

2500, 2500, 2500, 2500, 2500, 2500, 2500, 1875
2916, 2916, 2916, 2916

Would I use 31,039 which is the total (same as average) or 22,500 which is the lowest amount x 12.

Thanks and hoping for a reply.

lowest value is taken in category A with 6 payslips and multiplied by 12 to get an approx average annual income

in this case , you have actually earned all this money . so just add them up and write the figure .

Your case well fit under category B where you need to fulfill the financial requirement in two ways:

1. You seems like on fixed wages (salaried person), if so then your annual income at the time of application will matter if it meet/exceeds £18600.

2. Secondly you simply add the wages figures instead taking its average during the last 12 months from application and if it gives £18600 them second part also get fulfilled.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thanks for the reply.

So for Category B, part 1, I would enter 35,000 for current annual salary (receiving 2916pm x 12).

Then for part 2, I would enter 31,039, which is the total income from the last 12 months payslips added together.

Thanks.

Question: How often do you see (meet) your partner?

Post by alewid » Mon Aug 27, 2018 10:34 pm

I put down everyday.

I'm the British sponsor amd was just thinking that I went on holiday abroad last year for 2 weeks with friends.
Is that irrelevant and my answer technically correct?

Apologies for being an idiot.

Does anyone know what figure is needed for the following question when applying under category B where last 12 months salaried income is calculated? Is it the last 12 months total, or the current annual salary?
If you or your sponsor have had more than one job, you must provide the full details for each job held and the specified evidence for each job.
You and your sponsor’s total combined income from salaried employment?
