Proving My wife has Indefinite Leave to Remain for Mortgage, Quickly!

Post by mtiller » Fri Oct 19, 2018 5:08 pm

Hi All,

My wife and I are both Australian and moved here in 2000, we both have at least one UK parent. Both my parents were english, so I have a UK passport. No issue.

Because my wife's english parent is her mother, she only got a certificate of ewntitlement to the Right of Abode in her Australian passport. That passport has now expired and she doesn't have a new one since she has never left the UK in that time.

We are trying to re-mortgage and the Building Society involved won't accept the COE in the expired passport. What can we do to (quickly) prove she has the right of abode\ILR?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Mark
