HR refused annual salary requiest

Visa for my wife on ILR (M)

I ask HR for a letter they would do everything (job start date etc) but would not give me a figure for my annual salary, they would only put my contracted hours and my hourly pay rate.

Saying "Due to our referencing policy we cannot comment on salary for band 2 colleagues as we are not trained in calculating salaries and this is all subject to contractual changes/overtime/human error. We provide references for the Home Office frequently and hourly rate is sufficient."

will the hourly rate be ok, should I add their email to her application saying I tried to get this but...
