Preparing to submit Set (M)

Hi All,

My Wife received her Extension of 2.5years in December 2016 and im hoping to be more prepared this time so I can apply for the ILR. The financial situation is much better meaning im above the £18600, so now I am not too worried on that.

I just wanted advice on (even though rules change...but still need a foundation to start off with)
1. What paperwork will be required (including payslips, bank statements)
2. The test required currently? I know they have updated the test from A1 to A2....but not sure that's required for ILR
3. will the Life in the UK test need to be completed prior or after the ILR?
4. Price for Life in the UK test and Nationality?

Looking to be prepared and have paperwork ready instead of rushing at the last stages of the application.

Any help would be appreciated. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would also be appreciated.

Bear in mind that anything can change between now and when you apply. You will need same sort of documents as for extension.

B1 is the current requirement for ILR.

Before.

LIUK is £50. Not sure what you mean by 'nationality'?

Thank you for the response.

So the requirement will be to complete B1 and life in the UK before her visa expires? can she do them now or they need to be within 6 months as they expire?

By nationality I mean = get a British citizenship-passport that kind of thing.

Will I still require the same documents such as address letters....birth cert of son and daughter (son born after previous application) and living accommodation papers?(I own my property so gave land registry docs)

She needs B1 English and LIUK in order to apply for ILR.

LIUK does not expire. English tests are valid for 2 years.

ILR costs about £2200 for a postal application or just under £2900 for a premium in person application.

Suggest focus on getting ILR done first before worrying about citizenship, which costs £1287 currently. Less documents need for citizenship.

Please just to make my mind at ease....the step after FLRM Extension (spouse Visa) is ILR?

im 95% sure im on the right track lol but as anyone would like a confirmation to be at ease.

Also the name of the Form so I can print it out and and start working towards meeting all the requirements.

How many days/months prior do you have to apply?

I know the FLRM was within 28days so is SET(M) the same?

Same applies but she cannot apply any sooner than within 28 days before the 5 anniversary of the date she entered the UK.

Yes, often longer. You can apply in person for a same day decision too, it just costs a lot more.

Good Afternoon,

I am preparing to apply for my Wifes SET(M), and just wante to ask:

1. Is the BRP a form of visa? do i have to apply within 28 days of the expiry of that BRP? her Expiry on the BRP is March 2019.

2. My children are British, but will i need to provide two photographs of them with the application? I know the application requests details about them, however now sure if photos are required?

3. Generally does this have the same requirements such as: B1 Test, Life in the UK, 6 months bank statements, 6 months payslips, 6 pieces of letters addressed to each one of us, my work contract, my Land registry (i own my property we live in), the Nikah (marriage certificate), Photos of us and the family.

4. I know this is quiet common, as far as i am aware, i am allowed to apply for Child Tax and Benefit as i receive both as both my children are British?

anything iv missed out here?

My wife is on a spouse visa (5 year route). We need to apply for SET (M) indefinite leave to remain.

She arrived in the UK on the 17th of April 2019. Her BMRP is set to expire on 28th August 2019.

Can we apply for ILR now as she has been here over 5 years?

Your previous posts stated her visa expired in March 2019???

Presumably the date she arrived that you have stated above is an error and not last month??

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yeah i accidentally wrote March instead of August. Looked quickly on the BMPR and thought it was March. (its also my wife Birthday in March so could have confused it with that)

The date on the BMPR is 28-8-2019. Has lives here since 17th april 2014.

She could have applied within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the date she entered the UK. She can also apply anytime now before her visa expiresm
