puzzling questions for dependent child on Set(M)

Post by jennylyb » Tue Dec 08, 2020 12:22 am

Dear Gurus and senior members and those who had experience in applying with a dependent child,

I am completing SET(M) for me and my child who came with me 5 years ago on a dependent visa but is now over 18. I'm puzzled by two questions while completing my child's info. I wanted to attach screenshots, but was unable to figure out how. Sorry. I'll try to describe the scenarios clearly.

One asks to "confirm who your parents or legal guardians are". There are two choices, one is my name, the other is "someone else". Shall I tick "someone else" as well? (It says "you can select more than one option")

Another question asks "Are you and your partner married or in a civil partnership?" So, is this question for me or for my child? At the beginning of the form for the dependent child, it states that "you" in questions refers to the child. If so, this question doesn't seem to make sense. Apparently, a dependent child cannot be married, which is a requirement for not leading an independent life. But it is included as part of her form, and if I took this question for me and answered "yes", it shows a "Yes" for marriage which looks scary on her form. So, should I choose Yes or No?

Could any of you advise please? Many thanks.
