CEFR B1 TEST - Does it Expire???

Post by Jay07 » Thu Feb 09, 2023 2:04 pm

Hello Everyone,

Good day to all, hope everyone is doing well.

My name is Jay, I'm asking for any help or information you may have to share regarding CEFR B1 test.

I have taken my CEFR B1 Test in June 2020 from Trinity College which I used for my FLR M application, now I'm on the process of doing my ILR application and I would like to check with everyone if I can still use the same qualification/certificate for my application or do I need to retake them?

Please, any information will be so helpful and appreciated.

Thank You!

Kind Regards,

Jay

You can use an expired test if it was used in a previous application AND the test and test centre are still on the current UKVI approved list.

The CEFR B1 test and the Test Center are still on the UKVI approved list.

Thank you CR001 for the clarification, so it's 100% I can still use the more than 2 years old exam result to prove my English Language as I booked to take the same test again. That means I need to cancel it then.

You can use the same test if BOTH conditions are met as I explained.

Sorry for feeling this, I'm just so anxious about it as its kinda delay my application timeline. I read from Trinity college FAQ's that they recommend CEFR B1 to be accepted by home office when it's less than 2 years.

I suggest you read the UKVI's guidance as they make the rules and not Trinity's advice.

https://www.gov.uk/english-language/app ... ifications
If your qualification has run out
Some recognised test qualifications only last for 2 years. You can still use a B1 level qualification that you took more than 2 years ago in 2 situations.

Applying for citizenship
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if you’re applying for citizenship and it was accepted when you settled in the UK.

It does not matter if the B1 level test you took is not on the current list of recognised tests. You do not need to take another test.

Applying to settle in the UK
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter

Thank you very much CR001 for this, really appreciate your time and patience. God bless you always.
