ILR Application – Evidence for Absences & Payslip Timing Question

Post by skilledw » Mon Aug 11, 2025 11:46 am

Hi all,
I would like to ask something regarding my ILR application. I will have completed my 5-year qualifying period on 2 August 2025, the first two years on an Overseas Media Representative visa and the last three years on a Skilled Worker visa. However, my role ended before I obtained ILR, and I have now secured another sponsor and received my new visa.

After getting my first payslip at the end of this month, I plan to apply for ILR. My first payslip from my new sponsor will only cover 19 days, should I apply immediately after receiving it, or wait until I have another full month’s payslip?

Also, on the ILR form it states: “What evidence will you provide to support the reasons for all absences from the UK and Crown Dependencies?”
What exactly should I provide for this? Should I also reach out to my previous employers for letters?

I suggest having a full month of pay before applying.

You do not need to provide any evidence/reasons for your absences from the UK. That is a legacy from old Tier 2 days.
