Post by smatt » Tue Aug 23, 2011 2:00 pm

Hi All,

Has anyone applied for ILR recently under HSMP Judical Review along with patner? And I want to know if child is born in London, have they applied for their child or not? If not, still provided baby details in the ILR form or not? If not, if they ask what should be the best answer? Please hlep me.

No need to include child in your ILR applicatin, if your child was born in the UK, he/she is eligible for citizenship once you get your ILR. Search the forum and u will find many references.

If you include the child in your application than you will have to pay his/her fee as well.

To become British Citizen the Child still has to be registered as British Citizen and at the time of registration the Immigration status of the Child is irrelevant. So personally i would NOT include my UK born child in ILR if I plan to apply for his/her citizenship later from a obvious point of saving some money. I have done this did not include my daughter in the ILR application and now she is happy British Citizen with British passport. 8)

One would only want to include the child on the ILR in circumstances where
1. you want to make a immediate travel having child with you after ILR or
2. you never want to apply for British Citizenship for yourself and child.

hope this helps.

Thank for your replies.

Dear manyaonisland, as you said you have not included your daughter while applying for ILR, it is not illegal not to give details in the ILR form because at the moment baby is living with us and also if they ask us (planning for Premium Service) should we tell them we have child or pretend we don't have. Kindly let me know.

While applying for British Citizenship one has to register. Is this Registration means?
