Advisable to send supporting doc apart from those requested?

Post by jaskiratbaweja » Sat Feb 25, 2012 6:30 pm

Dear all

Need your advise on what additional documentation to send. As you can see from my case, I was asked to provide a letter from previous employer
explaining :

1) Why was I required to travel for business trips?
2) What was my role when on business trips?

The case worker said send additional document such as Employment Contract.

Now my question is whether

A) Be to the point and supply what has been asked for?

B) I should send additional documents such as tenancy agreement, Council tax payments and prove that over last 5 years I have satisfied the continuous stay requirement?

They haven't said anything about continuous stay requirement or anything else.

I am confused what should I do? Your opinion and advise will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

Rang the HO on Friday said the same thing your application will be included to the postal application but then why the F I payed at PEO.

But guys when you say 2-3 weeks turn around time is it from the date of submitting the additional docs or from the date we originally submitted the application as I have to be in India in next 3 weeks time so in theory I need my passport back in 2 weeks time if not I need to ask them to resend my passport back.

Ok. Sounds pretty clear on what they needed.

I believe once they look at your case with the additional letter, they will grant ILR. Hope you hear soon, I think you will get your ILR stamped passports in the coming week. All the best!

I dont think so it will affect them. I know my friend whos case was hold for 1 year. his mom got cancer operation. he submmited all the reports and documents with MP.

When MP called second time i dont know what HO said to him he was quite and said he cant help any more....

My friend called HO and talk to case worker she said its not in my hands to do . she said its under check or verification. then he said can i help in have any reference with employers etc she said no.

after that his canadian immigration was approved and after 15 months of pain he widraw his case and go to canada..

so what i learn is MP can't do any thing.. thats what i beleive ...

I guess it varies from case to case. In general even postal applications get through in 6-8 weeks. Depends on the things they are trying to validate with a particular case and if you have provided all documentation, sooner or later you will get the passports with ILR duly stamped back.

I spoke to my MP's office last week. The MP has contacted the UKBA on behalf of someone in just this position. It is possible that these cases will be considered more urgently but I suspect there are no guarantees!

So I have now posted the additional document as requested by UKBA and also sent a self addressed prepaid envelope.

Now the waiting game begins for me as well. Hope the best.

Will keep you guys posted.

Hi jaskiratbaweja,

did you check with your solicitor what could be the turn around time after submitting the docs.

Thanks,

PK

The Solicitor said that if PEO keeps original documents and has asked for additional docs addressed to SCW team at same PEO, one could be lucky and expect it between 2-3 weeks or quicker.

He said the caseworker does arrange your case and summarize everything for Senior Case Worker. The senior case worker looks at additional docs and the application in light of additional document and decides.

So no concrete answer but he said be positive.

K here you go with the good news from my side, I got my ILR approved finally.
My solicitor collected the passport in person today and found that it was approved 10 days ago itself and the docs were lying there ( we requested for self collection as we didnt want to wait for the post). So horrible that I had to go through 10 days of extra pressure. Looks like he got a call today asking him to collect the case. But finally a big relief.

Wish you all good luck who is in the waiting list, hope you will hear the good news soon too.

Many Congratulations to see this Generic. So happy to see that your case has been approved. Hope it works successfully and quickly for us as well. Many Many congratulations.

So it did not go to the postal queue and was review and approved by Senior Case worker in Croydon PEO. That is encouraging news for all of us.

Generic can you update the timeline on the tracker you created :

Date applied at PEO :

Date Additional Documents Sent :

Date ILR vignette placed on passport:

additional documents don't necessarily go to postal queues - the speed of approval depends on the nature of the document.

my wife's ILR was stamped within 4 days of receipt of additional documents and passport returned to us (by 2nd class recorded delivery) within further 4 days.

That sounds promising.

I was requested to supply additional letter from previous employer explaining the need for travel on business trips and my role in detail.

Although had a general letter saying I was employed and was required to travel extensively and another letter which confirmed the dates of business trips. They wanted a more detailed letter.

Because my total Business absences were 216 (none was greater than 90 days), they probably needed a proof that it was essential to travel to fulfil obligations to clients etc

My previous employer has now provided a fully detailed letter as requested and has been submitted to PEO.

I hope they allow discretion for Business related absences based on additional proofs and approve my ILR and I get to hear the good news soon as well.
