Hi,

I have my PR at the end of this year. I used to pay council tax regularly, when my wife joined me I also incluede her name in council and for some reason we used to get two council bills on each on our names, although I used to pay for only one, later we received a letter from council to attend to the court for not paying the council tax, so I immediately called to them and clarified everything and they said its our mistake and you need not go to court.

My question is will this effect to my PR, do you suggest me to get any letter from council for their mistake...?

bizzare. if you added your wife to ctax then you ctax should have gone up and you shouldn't have received a second bill. I normally get a letter with my wife's name on the bill and the amount just gets debited off my account.

you need to speak to your council in question and clear it up.

I have had the same issue with council, when they issued me with 2 statements for payment....I had to speak to them to have this rectified.

from what you have mentioned it should have no implication whatsoever with your ILR application. Good Luck!
